ROAD TO 34th YOKOHAMA HOT ROD CUSTOM SHOW

Nov 05, 2026
Introduce: In the automotive world, there is one word you hear again and again: “Custom.” For those who are truly part of the scene, though, Custom means far more than making a vehicle look better or swapping a few parts. A vehicle may start out identical to thousands of others on the road. But once its owner adds thought, taste, detail, and a personal story, it slowly becomes something one of a kind. When people who share these ideas come together as a community, what emerges is “Custom Culture”: a culture that goes beyond vehicles to include art, design, paintwork, craftsmanship, music, fashion, lifestyle, and people united by the same passion. Japan reflects this culture especially clearly. It has taken influences from Hot Rod, Custom, and Motorcycle Culture abroad and reinterpreted them through craftsmanship, design, and meticulous attention to detail, creating a Custom Culture with a distinct identity of its own. Over the past several decades, Japan has been home to builders, painters, artists, designers, custom shops, and brands that have helped this culture grow. In particular, they have reimagined Hot Rod, Custom, Motorcycle, and American Vintage Culture through a Japanese lens, producing custom work that is classic, creative, and refined in its own way. What matters is that Custom Culture in Japan is not limited to “modifying vehicles.” It has grown into a community that connects people from many fields, from builders and garages to artists, designers, apparel brands, accessory makers, and creators of automotive art. Everyone is welcome to take part and share their own ideas. And in 2026, Custom Culture enthusiasts from many regions are turning their eyes to Yokohama, as the 34th YOKOHAMA HOT ROD CUSTOM SHOW 2026 is about to take place once again. Chapter 1: Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show, a Stage for Custom Culture The Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show, or HCS, is one of the largest indoor custom car and motorcycle shows in Japan. Organized by MOONEYES, it is held at Pacifico Yokohama in Yokohama, Japan. What makes this show special is that it gives creators from many different fields a place to present their work and ideas. The venue is filled with custom cars, custom motorcycles, hot rods, custom paint, and pinstriping, alongside work by distinctive artists, designers, builders, and brands. From the outside, HCS may look like an event for car lovers only. But what makes it more than a vehicle show is the people who travel to be there: builders who spend years creating a single vehicle, artists who work by hand, painters who care about every shade, and visitors who come looking for fresh inspiration. Each has a different approach and expertise, yet a shared passion for Custom Culture connects them all. HCS is a meeting point for the global Custom community, a place to showcase work, exchange experiences, and build relationships among people with common interests. For HUG Sticker custom, this is one of the stages where we can present work from Thailand to a much wider audience. Chapter 2: HUG Sticker custom, from Thailand to the World’s Attention For HUG Sticker custom, our passion for Custom work begins with what we do best: graphic design for vehicles. We believe graphics should be more than patterns applied to a vehicle’s body. They should be part of that vehicle’s personality and story. Every line, color, composition, and detail plays a role in making it stand apart. Over more than 13 years, HUG has developed its approach to designing and producing graphics kits for motorcycles and cars, drawing inspiration from many cultures, from motorsport to Thai art and heritage. In particular, we reinterpret elements of Thai art, such as the flowing lines of the Naga, Thai Yaksha guardians, and patterns that reflect stories and beliefs, to suit the forms of modern motorcycles. Our approach blends creativity with production technique to produce work with a distinct HUG identity. From our beginnings in Thailand, our work has reached customers in many countries, together with a growing network of partners who share our passion for Custom work. This growth reflects more than overseas market expansion. It shows that design can communicate and connect people across language and cultural differences. This trip to Yokohama is another important opportunity to bring HUG’s identity to the international Custom Culture stage. Chapter 3: HUG × TRIJYA, from Thailand to Japan’s Custom Culture Stage For YOKOHAMA HOT ROD CUSTOM SHOW 2026, HUG Sticker custom will exhibit together with TRIJYA Custom Motorcycles, our partner in Japan. TRIJYA specializes in custom motorcycles, with a focus on design, craftsmanship, and the finer details of each build. HUG specializes in designing and producing graphics kits that create identity through line, color, and graphic composition. Together, the two brands bring Custom Motorcycle expertise and Graphics Design expertise side by side, united by a passion for distinctive, creative work. At the show, HUG and TRIJYA will present Custom work that reflects the ideas of both brands, along with a brand-new piece that has never been unveiled before. It is an important chance for visitors from Japan and around the world to experience HUG’s design approach up close, and a space to meet, exchange ideas, and build relationships within the International Custom Community. This is not simply about bringing work from Thailand to display in Japan. It is a collaboration between two brands from different cultures, sharing creativity on a world stage. Chapter 4: Custom Culture Has No Formula and No Borders The charm of Custom Culture is that there is no single right answer. One vehicle may be designed to be as minimal as possible, while another is full of intricate detail. Some reflect the classics, while others blend modern ideas and techniques. Whatever form the work takes, what matters is the creator’s intention to express who they are through their craft. At HUG, we believe vehicle graphics are part of this culture. One set of graphics may draw on the racetrack, another may reflect traditional art, and some may be built from the personal story of the vehicle’s owner. These differences are what keep Custom Culture diverse and constantly evolving. The same is true of the collaboration between HUG and TRIJYA. Although our expertise and ways of working differ, we can bring each side’s perspective together to create something new. After all, Custom Culture is not confined to any one country. It is a culture that gives everyone room to express their creativity in their own way. Chapter 5: FROM THAILAND TO YOKOHAMA, an Important Step for HUG Sticker custom From Thailand to Yokohama, the distance can be measured in kilometers. For HUG Sticker custom, though, this journey means much more. It is a journey of creativity, experience, and passion that we have built up over time. From our start in vehicle graphic design in Thailand, to work that has reached customers around the world, the next step is exhibiting with TRIJYA Custom Motorcycles on an international Custom Culture stage. We see this journey not only as another milestone for the brand, but as an opportunity to learn, build relationships, and open ourselves to new inspiration from people who share the same passion. FROM THAILAND TO YOKOHAMA From creativity in Thailand to becoming part of a global Custom Culture. This is not a final destination, but another chapter in the journey HUG Sticker custom is determined to continue. Different Origins. Shared Passion. One Custom Culture.
